Requirements

To become a MTS candidate you must meet the following eligibility requirements. If you have any questions regarding the following requirements please contact us at info@mtspecialist.com.You have made the decision to become a MTS trainer, now let’s make sure you are qualified

MTS certification is not designed for an entry level certification. It is strongly recommended you have had at least 1000 hours of practical 1 on 1 or group training experience. You will also need a basic to moderate understanding of anatomy and physiology. We recommend acquiring an anatomy book as a supplemental study guide to prepare for this exam.

If you are applying as a group please contact us before paying.

You must complete and bring to the exam site:

• Bring a valid ID to test center; you must be 20 years of age to take the exam
• Bring proof of a current CPR & AED Certification
• Bring proof of a current accredited personal training certification
• Attend the 1-day MTS seminar
• Be given a pass on the pass/fail practical portion of the exam
• Score a 80% on the 50 question written portion of the exam

You may sit for the exam with out proof or copy of your CPR & AED card and your current PT certification; however, you will not receive your exam results until you can provide this information.

If you pass:

You will receive an electronic confirmation within 14 days of your exam. A copy of your certification will be sent in the mail along with your personal log-in and password information so you may start utilizing the website as a continuing education reference. Your training bio, picture and location will be added to our find a trainer page and you will proudly join others who are MTS certified trainers. Your constant support and education to become an elite trainer will have begun.

If you do not pass:

If you do not receive a pass on the pass/fail practical portion of the exam and a 80% passing score on the 50 multiple choice examination. you may re-take your exam at the next offered location for an exam only fee of $150.00
