Linda Freeman
Linda has been a fitness professional for over 20 years having come to the fitness industry from a performing arts background. Linda holds degrees from the Peabody Institute of Music and Johns Hopkins University. After a successful career as a classical ballet dancer, Linda returned to Baltimore as faculty member at both the Peabody and JHU and as founder and director of her own professional ballet company.
Transitioning to the fitness industry after the birth of her children, Linda holds multiple certifications in group exercise and personal training but is particularly happy to support her work as a Movement Specialist. “Of all the training I have studied and worked with over the years, MTS provides the best – sound movement principles that are applicable to clients of all abilities; efficient, effective training that gets the job done!”
Currently Director of Personal Training and Group Exercise at First in Fitness in Berlin and Montpelier, Vermont, Linda is also a Star 3 Certified Spinning Instructor and has extended her passion for Spinning to the road. Formerly a competitive equestrian, runner and skier, Linda now particularly enjoys paddling, hiking, and, of course, cycling.
Expanding her fitness knowledge and sharing it with others is a primary goal for Linda that has led to a secondary career in writing. Linda is a freelance correspondent for the Rutland Herald/Times Argus newspaper and a Blogger for Madd Dog Athletics/www.spinning.com.
Having recently experienced total bilateral hip replacement surgery, Linda brings personal experience to helping those with physical challenges. “My life and practice have been enriched rather than limited by my personal challenges and I am gratified to be able to restructure my work to help others. This is where MTS training supports my goals and responsibilities. My thanks to Jen and Chris Poljacik.”
“I am dedicated to my clients and enjoy training from one-on-one to small group and Spinning classes. The specificity of Personal Training affords the opportunity for efficient and effective fitness practices. My personal and professional goal is to share the benefits of health and fitness, to continue to learn and grow, and to age gracefully yet powerfully.”
Above all, Linda’s dedication is to her family: “my husband Dave, my amazing children Camille and Teague, and the beautiful people in their lives who have become my family including Ray, Francesca, Raffi, Tavo and Tara.
